There are 5 different job types in Euro Truck Simulator 2.

In this guide, I'll compare them, and answer the question of which job is the most profitable.

Types

Job types in ETS2

Quick Job

Quick Job in ETS2
  • Earnings: Low (up to ~€61.07/km)
  • Requirements: None

The most basic job. Good for beginners who don't have their own truck, and for those who don't want to risk damaging their own truck (damage is subtracted from your earnings, but you won't have to repair the truck).

Freight Market

Freight Market ETS2
  • Earnings: Average (up to ~€82.03/km)
  • Requirements: You must have your own truck

It is worth doing after buying your own truck.

Earnings are about 34% higher comparing to Quick Jobs, but you have to pay for fuel, tolls, and, if necessary, repair your truck yourself.

If you drive carefully, this job type should be profitable.

Cargo Market

Cargo Market in ETS2
  • Earnings: High (up to ~€136.35/km with double trailers or ~€97.89/km with single trailers)
  • Requirements: You must have your own truck and trailer

The most profitable job type in ETS2, as long as you choose a profitable trailer. Remember that a trailer is not just a one-time cost, because it can also get damaged.

External Contracts

External Contracts in ETS2
  • Earnings: Low (up to ~€82.03/km, but usually way lower due to the number of available jobs)
  • Requirements: You must have your own truck. Your profile must be connected to World of Trucks. You are forced to use 90 km/h speed limiter.

Alternative to Freight Market for those who want to participate in World of Trucks. Keep in mind, the earnings might be lower, due to less available jobs.

External Market

External Market in ETS2
  • Earnings: Low (up to ~€97.89/km, but usually way lower due to the number of available jobs)
  • Requirements: You must have your own truck and trailer. Your profile must be connected to World of Trucks. You are forced to use 90 km/h speed limiter.

Alternative to Cargo Market for those who want to participate in World of Trucks. Keep in mind, the earnings might be lower, due to less available jobs, and lack of double-trailer jobs.

What are the best paying jobs?

These are the best paying jobs in ETS2:

  • Cargo Market - with the right truck and trailer, it's the most profitable job type in the entire game.
  • Freight Market - if you don't have your own trailer, or you want more cargo variety, this is the second-best pick.
  • Quick Job - best for beginners and those who don't have their own truck. It's more profitable than it may sound, because you don't have to fuel the truck, pay for tolls, and if you have your own vehicle, you can hire an employee and drive the borrowed trucks yourself.
